I don't think anyone is mad. I assure you that my reading comprehension is more than adequate. If you'd like people to think that you're smart, maybe a Mensa board is more your speed. This is a car forum, and you're dealing with people who wrench on cars daily. In my experience, those people do not like it when they feel that someone is talking down to them. Your responses weren't even directed at me, and I got the feeling that you were sort of a pompous asshole. This may not be the case, and I'm not saying that you are. What I'm saying is that the way you talk (type) to people is likely to make them react the way they have. Surely you're a nice guy, and a smart guy. Maybe take the Dr. title out of your name and leave out the "if that doesn't make sense to you..." bullshit, and people will actually consider what you're saying instead of focusing on your tone. By the way, your argument about finding a "bad" belt offsetting the benefits of changing a belt before 60k... really? You were the one talking about four sigma and facts... why don't you go dig up data on the manufacturing process and quality controls for these belts and offer some of your own proof if you're going to make statements like that? How is what you're saying there any different than the argument that perhaps changing your belt before the suggested mileage interval is not a bad idea?
